Adapters

  • Vac Adapter: stem of the vacuum adapter is 5/8″; A vacuum adapter is the rotary coupling needed to connect a vacuum hose to the lathe spindle. It simply slides into the handwheel end of the spindle and is held in place with two 0-rings. Apply a dab of petroleum jelly on the O-rings and keep them clean for best results. The threads for the fittings are standard ¼” NPT
  • Scout vacuum adapter: has a Morse Taper shank that fits into either end of the spindle and has a O-ring for extra sealing. Apply a dab of petroleum jelly on the O-ring occasionally and keep it clean for best results. The threads for the fittings are standard ¼” NPT
  • Rotary Adapter: rotary adapter consists of two precision sealed bearings and a stainless steel hose barb that we also machine. You will attach a piece of tubing (included) to the barb that will run through the spindle hole of your lathe, providing the hole is bigger than .4″ or about 10mm. The tube from your vacuum pump will then attach to this tubing.
  • Universal Hub: machined from solid 6061 aluminum and includes an integral rotary adapter. The Universal Adapter is used to build your own vacuum chuck or vacuum faceplate

Chucks & Seals

  • Vacuum chucks are machined from solid 6061 Aluminum
  • Chuck is threaded 1-1/4″ x 8 TPI and comes with a Tommy-bar for removal.
  • Polymer seal has multiple sealing ridges and is 3D printed

Chuck Sizes

  • 3.25" Chuck: This is the smallest vacuum chuck, and it will have the least amount of holding power. With a vacuum of 20-25″ of mercury, this chuck should provide approximately 65 to 85 lbs. of holding force.
  • 4.5" Chuck: This midsize vacuum chuck, and if you are only going to get one, this is probably your best all-around choice. With a vacuum of 20-25″ of mercury, this chuck should provide approximately 135 to 170 lbs. of holding force.
  • 6" Chuck: Robusts largest vacuum chuck. With a vacuum of 20-25″ of mercury, this chuck should provide approximately 250 to 310 lbs. of holding force.
